NexGen & Kelsall

Jeanette had a fantastic trip down to Hickstead for the Nexgen Young Event Horse finals.

In the five-year-olds Primero, owned by Jill Sackett, finished seventh, Mark Johnson and Yvonne Mott’s My Forever Blue 14th and My Cool Gold 22nd, all putting in great rounds in a class of over 40 quality horses.

Molly Jackson and Rupert Neal’s Swhiskey had a great time in the six-year-olds, fourth after dressage, clear showjumping and just didn’t quite read the boat in the water first time around to finish eventual 10th. Good prep for his first International at Bicton next month.

On to Kelsall Hill unaffiliated with some first timers. Omard Lady  Lot, owned by Susan Millar, did her first event, taking the win in the 90 on her 28.3 dressage score.

Ruth Williams’ homebred four-year-old One Night Only (Bella’s baby) went to her first party and behaved very well. Jeanette is very excited about this horse.

Katy Mousdale on Ruth and Mike Mousdale’s Chill Chick had a brilliant run in the 100 with a pole down and confident clear across country. Meanwhile Becky Cooknell also had a good run in the 80 on Burton’s Girl, with a dressage PB, one pole rolled and clear cross country.
